It’s only just over a year since local charity Mashamshire Community Office, launched it’s bid to raise £215,000 to buy it’s building from landlords, North Yorkshire Police, who wanted to sell up. With a deadline of this month, our community swung into action – tackling a serious fundraising problem with lots of daft ideas!
All our lovely customers and tutors helped too… A big “thank you” if you bet on where the cows would lay their pats, or took part in our crazy-busy fundraising workshop day, or bid on items in our Arty-Crafty Silent Auction. Thank you to our tutors and staff, who gave their time for free or donated their lovely work to the auction.
All of you helped ArtisOn raise over £5,400 for the fund.
Now, the fantastic news is, we’ve all helped hit the target and successfully raise the funds needed to buy the building – securing the vital services MCO provides for Masham and the surrounding villages, for the future.
The sale completes on 31 August and MCO staff and volunteers can get back to focusing on our community. Why not call in next time you’re visiting? They do visitor information too!
