Our April Children’s Printmaking Workshop was a fantastic day filled with creativity and plenty of experimentation. Young artists spent the day exploring the exciting processes of collagraph and mono printing, discovering how different textures, shapes and layers could be transformed into unique prints.
The studio quickly filled with energy as participants built their own collagraph plates using a variety of textured materials, before inking them up and running them through the etching press. Mono printing proved equally popular, with children experimenting freely with colour, mark making and layering techniques to create bold one-off prints full of personality.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing everyone gain confidence as they explored new materials and processes in a relaxed and supportive environment. From delicate patterns to wonderfully playful abstract designs, every child produced an impressive collection of work to take home.
It was such a joy to welcome so many enthusiastic young makers into the studio, and we loved seeing the excitement of children using a real etching press for the first time. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the workshop such a success. We’re already looking forward to running more creative workshops for children in the future.
