As some of you may know, Sheila Smith, ArtisOn’s felt making guru for the past 5 years, is retiring from teaching felt making at the end of this year. It has been a privilege to have had the benefit of her skills and expertise and many many ArtisOn customers have benefited from her wisdom and been inspired by her work. Nothing could better illustrate this than the fact that one of her early students at ArtisOn, Louise Curnin, has been so inspired by Sheila that she formed the feltmaking group “Sheila’s Addicts” and is now teaching entry level feltmaking workshops for us – helping us fill a little of the void left by Sheila who is handing on much of her workshop feltmaking gear. We like the idea of of this cycle of expertise and Louise is joined by two other feltmakers – Yvonne le Mare and Suzie Walker who both do very different aspects of feltmaking.
We’re not loosing her all together though. She is still keen to teach her Eco Printing workshops in 2016 so get a fix of her while you can!
