Perfect for the wandering gourmets, wild swimmers, beach combers and hill walkers amongst us, why not come and make your own vintage inspired Rug Roll and leather flask holder.

Picnic Roll:
Neat enough to be tucked into your picnic hamper, or attached beneath the saddle of your bike or just carried by its pleasing handle, the Roll is stylish yet practical too. Made using resilient and rugged, oiled cowhide, this is a great opportunity to create a unique leather piece, ready for anything outdoors!

From selecting your individual piece of leather, cutting patterns and straps, to strap cutting and setting buckles, you will be taken in a half day session, through all of the different stages of creating your own roll, and that will gain character and patina as it ages.

The roll will be large enough to fit all sizes of rug, with the benefit of adjustable straps. Please bring the rug of your choice with you!

Flask Holder:
In the second half of the day you will move on to make a lovely leather Tea Flask Holder (flask not included).

This beautiful leather flask holder is specifically made to hold a flask for tea for two. Indeed, why not G&T for two! The stylish holder is formed from the same leather as the blanket holder, creating a coordinated overall look of sophistication and practicality. Again, you will be guided, step by step by Catherine.

Creating both of these items is suitable for beginners to leather crafting as well as those with previous experience. This is a small and friendly course suitable for beginners and improvers with lots of individual attention, all materials and tools provided. We know you will be thrilled with your creations.

What to expect

Time at ArtisOn is designed to take you away from it all. We provide the environment, the time and the guidance you need to create. You can expect a warm welcome, skilled and friendly tutors and the chance to meet like-minded people keen to share ideas. There will usually be two workshops going on and we encourage everyone to mingle and be nosey about what the other workshop is up to!

We encourage you to arrive half an hour before your workshop begins. This will allow time to meet other participants over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits before beginning your session. We always have a mid-session break for refreshments and a chance to talk over progress with others. All refreshments are included.

The finish time given is a target. There are occasions when the session may overrun so do let us know if you need to be away promptly.
