Kick off with a relaxed ArtisOn lunch, followed by a half day workshop with Sue Palin, to make a simple drum lampshade. During this fun afternoon session, you will learn all about how to make a professional-looking drum lampshade to take home. Ideally bring your own chosen fabric for the lampshade but Artison will have a limited choice available if you don’t have your own but please let us know beforehand. It is a great course to use a surplus small piece of fabric or re-purpose a family airloom clothing or household fabric item. Perfect too if you want to bring some specific fabric to match your décor. You can make a drum lampshade of either 20cm or 30cm diameter. We recommend your fabric should be approximately 70cm x 22cm, or 97cm x 26cm respectively. Lightweight cotton is the best weight and the easiest to get a perfect finish, but a heavier cotton or linen can work too.
You will have plenty of time to make and finish your lampshade and still enjoy an afternoon tea and cake… you might even have time to have a go at a second or a mini lantern too.
