In this workshop with Ness Burrows, you will have the chance to learn some basic knots that will enable you to create your very own, unique Plant Hanger to give as a gift or keep, it may create a spark and inspire you to make more.
Learn basic knotting techniques including tension and the ‘magic knot’. You can stand or sit at your macrame ‘creation station’ – fully adjustable to suit you. You will be provided with all the materials needed to make your beautiful Plant Hanger including coloured cords, scissors, tape measure, paper tape, hooks and an assortment of beads. All the beautiful soft colourful cords are made from recycled fabrics & textiles, broken down and remade into gorgeous organic muted earthy colours. Be guided by Ness who will share her experience and skills so that you come away with a beautiful Macrame Plant Hanger unique to you and your imagination.
Please note that though all refreshments are provided, no lunch is included in the workshop.
There is a £10 materials fee payable on the day.
What to expect
Time at ArtisOn is designed to take you away from it all. We provide the environment, the time and the guidance you need to create. You can expect a warm welcome, skilled and friendly tutors and the chance to meet like-minded people keen to share ideas. There will usually be two workshops going on and we encourage everyone to mingle and be nosey about what the other workshop is up to!
We encourage you to arrive half an hour before your workshop begins. This will allow time to meet other participants over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits before beginning your session. We always have a mid-session break for refreshments and a chance to talk over progress with others. All refreshments are included.
The finish time given is a target. There are occasions when the session may overrun so do let us know if you need to be away promptly.
What you’ll need to bring with you
Everything you need will be provided.
Bring along you favourite plant and/or plant pot or maybe a glass jar with lights for the ‘tada’ moment!
