Discover the wonderful art of fabric sculpting and create yourself a characterful and colourful little gnome, which can be given a place in your home or garden. Perhaps turn it into a mini Santa or one of his elves for a festive twist? You will first learn how to construct the base shape of your gnome. Then you will use fabric sculpting techniques, with a fabric hardener, a selection of fabrics and, of course, your imagination to bring your gnome to life.
Once dry, it is time to introduce the magic with coloured pigments applied using a dry brushing technique. Your little gnome will take two to three weeks to fully cure, but after this it will be weather resistant and can be given a home in your garden.
Your gnome will be approximately 20cm tall and mounted on a slate base.
No previous experience of fabric sculpting is needed as every step will be fully explained and demonstrated. However this session could be paired with the morning session to create fabric sculpted journal – click here for info.
