Susie Walker is a painter and sculptor, living and working on the North Yorkshire Moors near Whitby. her work is an eclectic collection of small paintings and sculptures using wool fibres and fabrics – often upclycling old clothes or unwanted packing materials. She is particularly interested in myths and folklore, especially those stories involving animals. She loves catching the occasional glimpse of the wild animals who share her environment. A hare on the moor, weasels skipping across the road or a fox in the woods just going about it’s business. Her needlefelt sculptures of animals certainly capture the essence and spirit of her subjects.
