Susie Walker is a painter and sculptor, living and working on the North Yorkshire Moors near Whitby. Susie first discovered needle felting back in 2010, during a random image search and immediately had to find out what it was and how it was done. Having ordered a selection of needles, gathered some fleece from the hedgerows and made a start she’s not looked back since! Susie has always loved animals and the sight of a hare crossing her path or the bright tail of a fox vanishing over a wall always makes her day.

Susie studied sculpture many years ago, where she became interested in Celtic art and folklore which has led to a life-long interest in medieval illustration and the mythologies associated with animals and plants, which also informs her work. Susie still regards needle felting as a magical process and enjoys teaching others.
