Lynn Ward
Yorkshire artist Lynn Ward has been painting for over two decades, but her projects have spanned centuries.
The largest of these being a 90ft x 8ft depiction of the ‘Evacuation of the Dunkirk’ exhibited in 2000 at Tennants Auction Rooms, Leyburn, North Yorkshire. The most recent being an impression of Roman Aldborough from the 4th Century. This 24ft x 8ft mural now resides in the wine tasting room of Dunesford Vineyard, near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.
She began her career working for an architectural firm with whom she spent a number of years working on murals and sculptures for The Forbidden Corner, a tourist attraction in Coverdale near Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
This variety of work put Lynn in good stead for when she became self employed and worked on everything from murals, to pantomime scenery, artists impressions right down to personalised illustrations.
As well as commissions Lynn sells her own work which is mostly painted landscapes inspired by the Wensleydale views that surround her especially if there’s an interesting barn or gate of which in the dales there are plenty.
