Louise’s work is inspired by people and relationships, often focusing on memories of times together and places visited – capturing a snapshot of time. She enjoys creating pieces of work that contain a narrative, with the fabric and materials central to the work. The materials are used to convey the story or feeling behind the work – often using naturally dyed fabrics and papers along with other natural items to add a sense of place to the work.
Louise is increasingly inspired by nature. The materials that she re-purposes for her work lead her to consider who used them previously and what for – this narrative, real or imagined, often finds its way into the pieces she creates.
Louise holds a City and Guilds Level 3 in Textile Art and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. He has been an Artist in Residence at Tudor House Museum, Worcester and exhibits regularly.
