Amy Fairburn

Amy’s love of Flowers came as a young girl hunting for wild flowers with her beloved Grandma.

After qualifying from Askham Bryan College over 18years ago, Amy embarked upon a wedding and events business where she provided flowers at some beautiful and prestigious venues. 5 Years ago when lockdown limited the amount of weddings Amy started growing her own flowers and delivering gift bouquets and Rosemary and Twine was born. Amy opened the bricks and mortar shop in Leyburn and with sustainability at the forefront of her mind, she found local growers to supplement her supply, joined Flowers from The Farm (a directory of flower farmers) and became an advocate for foam free floristry.

Amy has always enjoyed running workshops and has found a loyal following providing sessions seasonally to share her experience and knowledge in all things floral.

When not in the shop or running workshops Amy is at home on her family farm with her 3 children, 5 dogs, 3 cats, sheep and pigs. She enjoys being a stereotypical traditional farmers wife, baking, making jams and chutneys and always a Sunday roast.

At home is where Amy grows flowers for the shop and also where she finds huge inspiration from her beautiful surroundings. Foraging for plenty of materiel helps make her floristry interesting but also loose and naturally curated.
