This is a fun half day workshop where Sue will show you how to make a traditional Christmas wreath. From fairly minimal designs to sumptuous foliage and flowers, you will be guided you through the process and inspired with ideas for the festive season. This workshop is ideal for making wreaths as festive gifts – getting these wreath making skills and ideas under your belt will save you ££s! During the morning you will have plenty of time to complete two wreaths. You will have worked up an appetite for a traditional ArtisOn lunch by then too!

Once your two course lunch is over, you can head home with your beautiful wreaths and the skills to make many more!

Some material will be provided but you will need to bring a small selection seasonal foliage. A list to guide you will be provided nearer the time.

What to expect

Time at ArtisOn is designed to take you away from it all. We provide the environment, the time and the guidance you need to create. You can expect a warm welcome, skilled and friendly tutors and the chance to meet like-minded people keen to share ideas. There will usually be two workshops going on and we encourage everyone to mingle and be nosey about what the other workshop is up to!

We encourage you to arrive half an hour before your workshop begins. This will allow time to meet other participants over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits before beginning your session. We always have a mid-session break for refreshments and a chance to talk over progress with others. All refreshments are included.

The finish time given is a target. There are occasions when the session may overrun so do let us know if you need to be away promptly.

What you’ll need to bring with you

All wire, moss and wreath frames will be provided along with some foliage but if possible do bring along some (i.e. a carrier bag amount) of foliage such as holly, conifer, yew, ivy, spruce, eucalyptus or whatever you have etc. Also, bring any festive embellishments such as cinnamon sticks, dried orange, lotus heads, pine cones, ribbon that you specifically want to use but some will be available too.

Please bring secateurs and garden gloves if you have them.
