A half day workshop with Sue Palin to make a simple drum lampshade, raising funds for Mashamshire Community Office. Sue lives in Masham and as well as running ArtisOn, she is also a Trustee and Treasurer at MCO – no one knows better how important it is that we raise the funds to buy the MCO building. She is giving her time for free today, along with all staff and tutors, to allow this vital charity to continue to serve the Masham community.
During this fun afternoon session, you will learn all about how to make a professional-looking drum lampshade to take home. All the equipment to make a lampshade suitable for a lamp or a ceiling pendant is provided and included in the price. So your lampshade matches your décor, you will need to bring your chosen fabric for the lampshade. However, all other materials are included. You will make a drum lampshade of 20cm or 30cm diameter and we recommend you bring a fabric approximately 70cm by 22cm or 97cm wide and 26cm respectively. Lightweight cotton is the best weight and the easiest to get a perfect finish, but a heavier cotton or linen can work too.
You will have plenty of time to make and finish your lampshade and you might even have time to have a go at a mini lantern too. Get to know the other participants over a lovely two course homemade lunch which is all included and will be available from 12:30pm ready for the workshop to start at 1:30pm.
