Sue Vize SBA
Nottingham based but Yorkshire born Sue Vize SBA is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists, working full time as a botanical illustrator and tutor. Being passionate about drawing and preferring a pencil in her hand rather than a paint brush Sue works mainly in coloured pencil or graphite pencil and finds all the inspiration she needs in our natural surroundings with the garden and countryside providing a never ending source of subjects to draw all year round.
Sue’s work is held in many private collections both in England and worldwide, including the RHS Lindley Library, Nottingham University Plant Sciences Division and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation in Pennsylvania, USA. She exhibits annually at the Society of Botanical Artists exhibition at Westminster Central Hall in London. In 2010 her work was also included in the 13th International exhibition at the Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh, USA, and The Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park. Sue is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists and of the American Society of Botanical Artists, a member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society, and a member of the Florilegium Society in Sheffield, whose aim is to illustrate the plants of Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
