Iris Wilkinson

← Back to Tutors

After studying art and design as a mature student, Iris went on to do an MA and specialised in ceramic sculpture with an interest in Romanesque carvings. After qualifying as a teacher she taught ceramic sculpture at Harrogate College for a number of years as well as developing her own studio on the family farm. She prefers to work with local brick clay which has a more rustic finish and sells her work through galleries across the area. Her inspiration comes from the local countryside, history and the narrative of Romanesque sculpture. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for the subject and seeing the high standard that complete beginners can achieve.

“Tutor was fantastic, has a fun creative day in a relaxed and friendly environment.”
